MEMBER OF THE MONTH FOR DEC

1.How long have you been with us At CFBY? Do you remember your first workout?

Since September of 2018, so it’s been a little over 4 months now. Oh yes,I sure remember my first workout, it was “Suzie Williams” How could I ever forget that day?? I didn’t think I was going to finish it but thankfully Jodie was there by my side to cheer me on and by the time I finished it I had tears in my eyes. Top five most memorable moment in my life!

2.How would you compare your previous lifestyle with the one that is today?

 I’ve never been a super active type of person and a lot happened over the last four years. I had two beautiful kids and I was struggling to lose the weight and get healthier. I had lost count of how much money I’ve spent on gym membership and personal training but nothing was motivating me to change my lifestyle and be more active.
Today I come to CFBY at least 5 days a week.

I feel stronger, happier, and have more energy than ever. My little girls see me getting stronger everyday and I love that. Big thanks to my neighbor Nikki who brought me over to the BrickYard side! Also, I have lost 20lb after my first 12 weeks! Shoutout to Michele for the nutritional guidance and support.


3.If you could design the perfect workout for yourself that would it be? Thats a tricky question because every workout is still very challenging for me but let me say that thanks to the rowing challenge I’ve learned to love rowing. So the workout would probably involve rowing and perhaps squats,pushups,and pull ups.

4.What animal best represents you today? I think today I am more like a caterpillar, still a little slow and always a little hungry but working into my metamorphosis stage.


5.Which classes do you normally attend, any specific reason?Usually I attend the 9:30 am class where I get to workout with an amazing group of strong women who are truly an inspiration and also because I have young kids and it’s definitely a bring your own baby time of the day #BYOB


6.What is your motivation to get to the gym as often as you do? When you have little ones it can be really challenging to find “self care” time but what has worked for me is to get up, get the kids, and just go to CfBY. I’ve decided that no matter what kind of craziness was happening in my life I was just going to show up. I’ve always felt better after my workouts.CrossFit makes me happy :)

7.If you were to summarize your lifestyle in 5 words or less, how would it go?

Work In Progress...Sleep-deprived


8.What advice do you have for anyone thinking about starting? If I can do it anyone can do it too. I know CrossFit might sound a little intimidating but there is always a way to scale the workout.The coaches as super knowledgeable and supportive.The members are the coolest people you’ll meet. Here at CFBY I found the strength I didn’t know I had in me.
